Graduate Civils Engineer (Posted 03/12/13)

This opportunity will suit either a recently qualified graduate civil engineer or civil engineering technician keen to develop their skills assisting on a range of marine projects. 

Responsibilities will include reviewing tender documentation, engineering drawings, bill of quantities and providing a design component for new tenders.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to develop site H&S and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements and discuss materials specifications with our suppliers. Other duties will involve liaison with client engineers and site managers, site visits with our MD to take site measurements and to attend site meetings.

Ideally you will have excellent technical drawing & design Skills, be experienced in the use of CAD software and have had experience on site through job placement or work.  You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written and be competent in the use of MS Office suite. A clean current driving licence is also required.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and candidates will need to be locally based or willing to relocate to Oban.

 Diving Civils Supervisor (Posted 03/12/13)

We require a highly experienced supervisor who can make an immediate impact and take responsibility for some of our current and future marine civils contracts.  Your experience in managing complex projects involving underwater concreting, UW welding, timber remedial works, fendering and metalwork repairs will be supported by your knowledge of diving and worksite health and safety, team leadership and project planning. 

You will work with our engineer to develop appropriate task based risk assessments and method statements and will be experienced at interpreting technical engineering drawing details. You will also be computer literate and be able to demonstrate well developed written and verbal communication skills in order to deal effectively on a day to day basis with our clients, engineering consultants and materials suppliers. 

In addition to your HSE commercial diving certificate a degree or HND in civil engineering would be preferred and/or a proven track record of managing a variety of marine civils projects to a successful conclusion.  A current driving licence is also essential.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and candidates will need to be based locally or willing to relocate to Oban.

Divers
